Comics Archives, Inc. was founded December 29, 1978 as a Michigan corporation to sell retail periodicals or comic books. On August 1, 1986 the current president and owner purchased the company having already established himself as a trade show dealer and mail order service for comic books and sports cards as early as 1976. In that time the company has grown to carry additional products including trading cards, toys, action figures, books, U.S. & Canadian coins and other media.
Since establishing itself as a brick and mortar retailer of comic books and sports cards Comics Archives, Inc. has, as a component of its business, sold after-market merchandise, including (but not limited to) back issue comic books and sports cards. In this respect the company follows established grading guidelines accepted by hobbyist, collectors, and retailers in its appraisals and assessment of after-market goods. Although the breadth and variety of products Comics Archives, Inc. offers changes with customer interests and market sustainability the constant that the business prides itself on is its customer service. In this respect it might be possible to explain why the company has endured troubled economic times, the waning interests of hobbyists and collectors, and of course, the implosion of the collectible market in the 1990’s.
Comics Archives is an independently owned and operated business relying on its years of experience, good corporate standing, and success in the industry, over any formally issued certifications or credentials.
